The English Department at the Faculty of Arts of the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has the pleasure to cordially invite you to our Symposium entitled
Language and Art of Resistance
to be held in Conference Hall – IUG on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 9:30am
This symposium provides a meeting place for local and international linguists and artists to share their experiences and skills in using creative works of arts related to resistance. These works will include language stories, poetry, drama, cartoons, paintings, films and other artistic forms.
We are also pleased to inform you that a host of international scholars will participate in the symposium via Video Conference, most notably is our renowned keynote speaker, Dr. Mona Baker, Professor of Translation Studies at Manchester University, and the well-acclaimed guest of honor, Prof. Alison Phipps, University of Glasgow, UK. We are also honored to have other professors from the University of Glasgow and the University of Arizona, USA as well as Palestinian Professors.
